How to Navigate and Show/Hide Objects, Stories, and Classes in CostMiner

How to Navigate an IFC File

Rotating the Model

To rotate around the model: Hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse in the desired direction. This will allow you to view the model from different angles.

Panning the Model

To pan the model: Hold down the right mouse button and move the mouse. This will shift your view horizontally or vertically, enabling you to focus on specific areas of the model.

Zooming In and Out

Scroll the mouse wheel up to zoom in on the model, making it larger.
Scroll the mouse wheel down to zoom out on the model, making it smaller.

Managing Object Visibility in the Model

Show and Hide Individual Objects

  • To hide specific elements in the model: Double-click on the element you want to hide. Repeat this action for any additional elements you wish to conceal.
  • To restore hidden elements: Double-click on a blank space in the canvas, and all previously hidden objects will reappear.

Show and Hide Entire Stories

To manage visibility of stories: Click on the light bulb icon in the takeoff toolbar. Then, enable or disable the light bulbs next to the stories you want to show or hide.

Show and Hide Classes

To manage visibility of classes: Similar to managing stories, click on the light bulb icon in the takeoff toolbar. Enable or disable the light bulbs next to the classes you wish to show or hide.
